SPECIFICATIONS

During the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 school years, Respondent [ a high school science teacher ] engaged in inappropriate conduct, conduct unbecoming his profession and corporal punishment as follows :

SPECIFICATION 1 :

On or about November 5, 2003, Respondent engaged in corporal punishment when he put Student D.'s hand behind his back causing the student to fall to the ground.

SPECIFICATION 2 :

During the 2004-2005 school year, Respondent :

a) put ice cube down Student A's pants.

b) put his arm around Student A and called her words to the effect of Honey and Sweetie.

SPECIFICATION 3

During the 2004-2005 school year, Respondent :

a) pretended to hit female student on the backside with a plastic pass.

b) On more than one occasion, referred to female students with words to the effect of Honey and Sweetie.

SPECIFICATION 4

During the 2004-2005 school year, Respondent touched Student B on the back.

SPECIFICATION 5

In or about the week of April 1, 2005, Respondent called Student C Sweetie.

The Foregoing Constitutes :

Just cause for disciplinary action under Education Law 3020-a ;

Conduct unbecoming Respondent's position, or conduct prejudicial to the good order , efficient, or discipline of the service.

Substantial cause rendering Respondent unfit to perform his obligations properly to the service.

A violation of Chancellor's Regulation A-420.

Neglect of duty ; and

Just cause for termination.
