The Sexual Predator

Wiltshire was investigated twice for sexual harassment. I have only praise for the two victims because, usually, female staffs are reluctant to come forward -- whether as victims or witnesses of sexual harassment -- , for fear of retaliation, ostracism, or embarrassment. As a result, many perpetrators get off the hook easily. I was able to locate and interview one of Wiltshire's victims, a social studies teacher. She was transferred to another school, courtesy of the OSI, well known for more rubber stamping than investigating -- I am speaking from experience. She recounted a convincing story backed up with facts. Recruited as an English teacher in June 2003, Wiltshire told her, she said, to choose any program she wanted. She did : COSA, i.e. students activities, plus two English classes. In other words, she was allowed to build her program from a menu. She never thought that the favor came with strings attached.
How naive ! I was surprised she did not find it fishy from the start when Wiltshire told her repeatedly to 'stop by' at his office, since she lived in the neighborhood.
By the end of the first semester he revealed his true color, became belligerant because she was not "cooperative", she said. He came to her office and threatened her physically -- the basis for the complaint. She was stripped of the responsibility of managing the COSA's treasury (students' contribution to various activities) ; it was transferred to Adilifufu,AP for administration : since then opaque management of the fund became the norm.
I strongly believe that the above incidents were mere hitches in an otherwise successful business of sex for position --not all staff members are that scrupulous. Some of them have certainly succumbed to what looks like an attractive deal to them -- give to him what he wants in exchange for the best program , the best per-session activities, keeping the supervisory AP at bay, receiving satisfactory rating, etc.
After behaving like a rooster out of control in the poultry-yard for some time, Wiltshire quieted down after these incidents, probably content with what he already has... in all safety.

Adonai seems to have her own sex-related story as suggested by the email I received from a colleague :
As usual I have done nothing to get on her bad side except be a white female who has made friends with my black male colleagues. I have gone out of my way to teach Saturday school, volunteer for the incoming sixth grade interviews and grade the tests, cover her class when she had to be absent, etc.
Brothers for sisters. Is that it ? We understand her handicap, but we don't understand why it should be a burden on us.
