Just forget telling your child to go to the Peace Corps. It's right around the corner. It's standing on the corner. It can't speak English. It doesn't want to speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk. “Why you ain't where you is go, ra.” I don't know who these people are. And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. Then I heard the father talk. This is all in the house. Bill Cosby |

PARENT |
CHILD |
10/5/04 Dear Dr. Michael Wiltshire, This is E.T. the parent of M.T. , who is a senior. I am concern about the Math teacher that instructs the class, Mr. Fofana. From my understanding of what my child told me, the teacher is crazy. My son describes his attitude to me and I couldn't believe that this man is this way in the school. I came up to the school on Monday the 4th October 2004. I spoke to the parent coordinator and I understand that the action of the teacher is out of hand. Mr. Fofana also physically put his hand on a child said the coordinator. I was very much in shock that the staff of the school did not take action before. My son has this instructor and he needs this class to graduate. So I don't know how my son can learn when he can't even ask a question in class. Even if the children ask anything concerning the work he ignores them. That's in treatment for the children. This teacher Mr. Fofana should be out of there, if we care for the children safety and education. So, please take action because this is a serious problem. Sincerely Yours, T. (father)

10/5/04 Hear My Plead, M.T. (The Senior) Thank You! . |
October 7,2004 Thank you The same parent wrote this anonymous letter, copy of which was sent to my wife! To my knowledge, only the payroll secretary and the principal have access to teachers' files, which includes their addresses. |
To whom it may concern, I, L.M. , was in Mr. Fofana's class on Wednesday October 6th, 2004. He was doing the problems from the worksheet he gave the previous day. Majority of the class didn't comprehend what he gave for homework, so we asked him to explain what was going on in the class. I raised my hand to ask him to explain exactly what was going on, and in his exact words he told me " Oh well, I can't do anything about it". I said to him that "You are the teacher and it is your duty to help us". And he just turned his back and mumbled on to himself. There was a teachers' aid in the class. Her name is Mrs. Bell. Mrs. Bell was handling a student in the classroom. Mrs. Bell was talking to one of the students in the room and that student was becoming very disruptive. Then she called one of the security guards to come and talk to one of the students. I assume that the dean was also on his way to evaluate the class, but instead he walked into the "the battle field". So the dean happened to see what was happening and he pulled me out of the class. The dean then asked me what was going on and I told the dean exactly what happened and he old me to stay in his office for the rest of the period. ----------------------------------
